Our mission is to cultivate a zeal for Truth, and to shape students’ love of God’s Word, world, and people through a robust classical education that is affordable to ALL
Oak Hills Academy believes that in order to have high quality and excellent education teachers must teach students objective truth that finds its roots all the way back to the person and work of Jesus Christ who is truth itself. In the name of neutrality, our public schools have removed all evidence of God from the classroom, curriculum, and culture. Our children are not taught what is right from wrong, or good from bad, rather truth is relative to the individual. Education that fails to acknowledge God is education against God. This is why our curriculum and teachers teach all subjects from a biblical worldview. We focus on truth, beauty and goodness. We help students love the things that are worth loving. We believe all subjects have unity because all things are from Him, through Him, and to Him and find their ultimate purpose in glorifying God.
One of the goals of Oak Hills Academy is to support the Church in its mission to make disciples of all nations. We pursue this goal by offering a school option that supports many of the local churches while also providing unity to the faith community. We encourage this unity by supporting the authority structures already in a student’s life. With four steps we encourage students to do the following when it comes to doctrinal and theological differences. First, pray that God would reveal his truth to you. Second, search the Scriptures for an answer. Third, seek out how the Church has understood this doctrine over history. And fourth, trust the teaching of your parents and their church until God reveals his truth to you.
Oak Hills Academy is a liberal arts school in the fullest sense of the meaning. We study material that liberates our children’s minds and hearts. We teach students to be critical thinkers who can problem solve and clearly communicate on tough issues. Students are not only taught what to learn, but how to learn for themselves. We teach students to lead with eloquence, we inspire depth and wisdom, and we help cultivate rightly ordered affections. We do this through subjects which are taught as an integrated whole according to the developmental stage of students.
